CAVS SQUAD SHOW : The Most Likely Cleveland Cavaliers to WIN Postseason Awards

On this episode of Cavs Squad, we kicked off our preseason preview of the Cleveland Cavaliers by discussing expectations for the upcoming season and where the team fits into the Eastern Conference hierarchy. While the East remains highly competitive, we debated whether Cleveland belongs in the conference's top tier alongside teams expected to contend for the NBA Finals or if the Cavaliers currently sit just below that elite group as a dangerous challenger.

The conversation then shifted to individual accolades and which Cavaliers have the best chance to bring home major awards this season. We examined Donovan Mitchell's MVP candidacy, highlighting his leadership, scoring ability, and the possibility that another dominant regular season could put him firmly in the league's Most Valuable Player conversation if the Cavs finish near the top of the standings.

We also discussed Evan Mobley's chances of winning Defensive Player of the Year, a recognition many believe is well within reach. With his versatility, rim protection, and ability to guard multiple positions, Mobley enters the season as one of the NBA's premier defenders and a legitimate favorite for the award.

Finally, we made the case for Peyton Watson as a Most Improved Player candidate. Watson's athleticism, defensive impact, and potential for an expanded role make him an intriguing breakout candidate. If he takes another significant step forward offensively while continuing to develop as a two-way player, he could emerge as one of the league's biggest surprises and find himself firmly in the MIP race.

Overall, the episode explored both the team's championship aspirations and the individual storylines that could define Cleveland's season, offering predictions on where the Cavaliers stand in the Eastern Conference and which players are most likely to earn league-wide recognition by season's end.
