During the week 21-27 September, financial markets showed a solid degree of resilience, supported by the progress made in US-China talks and stabilisation of oil prices. On the macroeconomic front, the United States has continued to show solid growth, supported by the acceleration in PMI indices, whereas more gradual signs of improvement emerged in Europe, which were hampered by the impact of energy costs. The resilience of the American economy also supported an upturn in bond yields, particularly at the longer end of the curve. Equity markets closed slightly higher, driven primarily by US and emerging market indices, with European equities recording a more cautious trend. Overall, the global outlook continues to demonstrate significant resilience, pending new inflation and corporate earnings’ data. In-depth analysis with Stefano Cucchi from Eurizon’s Macro Research & Product Specialist team. Audio recorded on 28.09.26.
