SEC Week 3 Reaction: Ole Miss Revenge vs Lane Kiffin & LSU; Florida Over Auburn; UK Beats A&M & More!

We are recapping a wild SEC Week 3 - Ole Miss gets revenge over Lane Kiffin! Week 3 delivered several statement wins across the SEC, headlined by Kentucky’s stunning 31-21 upset of No. 9 Texas A&M. Kenny Minchey threw for 252 yards and two touchdowns, while CJ Baxter scored twice on the ground to give Will Stein his first marquee victory. No. 8 Ole Miss also scored a massive win, defeating No. 7 LSU 32-24 behind 363 passing yards and two touchdowns from Trinidad Chambliss. Georgia opened conference play by cruising past Arkansas 45-17, Florida survived a wild 44-39 shootout at Auburn, and Mississippi State erased an early deficit to beat South Carolina 41-34. Those results immediately shook up the SEC race, particularly with Kentucky, Ole Miss, Florida and Mississippi State all earning important conference victories.

Outside conference play, Alabama overcame a slow start and avenged last season’s loss to Florida State with a 50-36 victory in Tuscaloosa. No. 1 Texas remained unbeaten with a 30-6 win over UTSA, although the Longhorns’ offense was uneven despite two Arch Manning touchdown passes to Cam Coleman. Tennessee handled Kennesaw State 42-9, Missouri rallied past Troy 27-17, and Oklahoma leaned on its defense to defeat New Mexico 14-6. Vanderbilt provided one of the weekend’s most dramatic wins, scoring 21 fourth-quarter points to beat NC State 35-31 behind Jared Curtis’ three touchdown passes, leaving the Commodores at 3-0. Overall, the SEC’s Week 3 winners were Georgia, Kentucky, Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, Texas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Florida.
