Negotiation Myths And Shadow Coaching

Denver Nuggets face contract crossroads with Peyton Watson—was a lowball offer a negotiation tactic or a sign of deeper rifts? Matt Moore unpacks the $70 million, 5-year offer and what it signals about Watson’s future, public perception, and the realities of restricted free agency in the NBA. Are fans getting played by classic agent-team negotiation tricks, and what’s the real value range for Watson as trade rumors swirl?

Critical roster questions abound: If the Nuggets pivot, who fits as a high-level player in a deal, and what are the implications for Christian Braun, Jamal Murray, and Aaron Gordon? Moore dissects best- and worst-case scenarios for Denver’s upcoming season, then explores Dave Joerger’s arrival as assistant coach and what his intense coaching style could mean for David Adelman’s job security. The Nuggets’ next moves could shape their Western Conference standing—will they solidify their core or risk roster turmoil?
