HCL Co-Founder Ajai Chowdhry: Why India Builds Employees, Not Founders

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

In 1976, six young engineers sat together with one dream - to build a computer India could call its own.One of those six was Ajai Chowdhry. Today HCL is a 50 billion dollar company. And the man who built it from nothing is here - not to celebrate the past, but to warn us about the future.

India produces the world's best engineers. We send them to America. America builds trillion-dollar companies. And we watch from the outside.China does not have this problem. China builds founders. India builds employees. That one mindset gap is costing India its seat at the global tech table.

Dr. Ajai Chowdhry - HCL co-founder, Padma Bhushan awardee, India Semiconductor Mission advisory board member - speaks without filters about what India must do in the next 15 years to stop being a services nation and start being a product nation.

The 8000 crore loss. The R&D gap. The brain drain. The startup reality. The China threat. All of it. Unfiltered. If you are a founder, student, or engineer who believes India can lead the world in technology.
