BIGGEST FEAR: If The Washington Nationals Offense REGRESSES, They Won't Be Able To Improve

Washington Nationals face a pivotal offseason: can their power-packed offense avoid a costly regression, or will tough roster decisions force a new direction? Ryan Clary questions if potentially losing standout shortstop CJ Abrams or relying on rising prospects like Seaver King could disrupt the team’s momentum after a surprising surge in home runs and overall production. The conversation spotlights concerns about lineup depth, MVP candidates like James Wood, and the implications of a potential MLB lockout on player development. Clary analyzes controversial moves—such as not calling up Seaver King or DFA’ing Jorbit Vivas—and explores how a Brewers vs. Rays World Series could impact the push for a salary cap, with lasting effects on the Nationals' strategy in a division dominated by big spenders like Steve Cohen’s Mets. Can the Nationals sustain their offensive success and compete with MLB’s financial heavyweights?
