S1E13: गंगा की कथा | The Story of the Ganga

At daybreak on the banks of the Shona, Rama, Lakshmana, Vishvamitra, and the sages continue their journey and arrive at the sacred river Ganga.

Seated beside her waters, Rama asks Vishvamitra how the Ganga came to flow through the three worlds. Vishvamitra then unfolds the ancient account of Himavan and his daughters Ganga and Uma, the concern of the gods, the divine energy entrusted to Ganga, and the birth of Kartikeya, who is ultimately consecrated as commander of the celestial forces.

Rooted in the Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa, this episode follows the sacred narrative of Ganga’s origin and the birth of the divine commander, bringing Rama’s journey to another profound moment of learning and reflection.
