Born Again, What Now | Episode 13 | Baptism

Did you know the Bible teaches that there are multiple baptisms?

Many Christians may not realize that Scripture speaks of not one but several baptisms, each with an important role in a believer's life. Hebrews 6 lists the doctrine of baptisms among the six elementary principles of Christ that form the foundation of our faith. Understanding these baptisms helps us grow spiritually, mature in our faith, and follow God's plan for our lives.

In Episode 13 of "Born Again, What Now?", Duane Sheriff explores the third elementary principle of the Doctrine of Christ—the doctrine of baptisms. First, the Holy Spirit baptizes us into the body of Christ at salvation, making us members of His universal church. Second, we follow Jesus in water baptism as an act of obedience and public profession of our faith—not to be saved, but because we are saved. Third, Jesus baptizes believers with the Holy Spirit, empowering them to serve God and be effective witnesses for Christ.

This foundational teaching brings clarity to a subject often clouded by confusion and denominational debate, revealing God's plan for transforming converts into mature disciples of Christ.
