Then the 2-step shuffle kicks in, ghost rimshots and all, and the whole thing starts rolling with that classic MJ Cole-era swing stretched somewhere new. Tabla pulses cut through the sub-bass like a frequency that belongs there, and a Rhodes and organ stab hold the euphoric centre.
The groove is UKG by bloodline, juke by instinct. Breathy vocal stabs stutter across the polyrhythm, warm and hypnotic, pulling the track deeper into itself. The soulful core never gets buried under the tech-house architecture. Both layers earn their place.
