Then, a horrifying developing case out of Pennsylvania: Dr. Idris Evans, a 46-year-old pediatric critical-care physician at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, was fatally stabbed after an intruder allegedly entered his home and attacked Evans and his wife while they slept. Their two children escaped unharmed. Elijah Hemingway, 32, has been charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, burglary and criminal trespass. CBS News

The Pittsburgh case is still developing. Police say Elijah Hemingway is accused of entering the Evans home and attacking Dr. Idris Evans and his wife while they slept; Hemingway has been charged, not convicted. WPXI
And one important correction from the transcript: the Tennessee death-row inmate's name is Christa Gail Pike, and her victim was Colleen Slemmer. Tennessee officially lists Pike's execution for September 30, 2026.
