Eight-year-old Fabian disappeared from Güstrow, Germany, on October 10, 2025. Four days later, his body was found near a pond outside Klein Upahl. Prosecutors accuse Gina H., the former partner of Fabian's father, of luring him from home, killing him and later setting his body on fire.
But there is no confession and the murder weapon has never been found. Instead, prosecutors have built a complicated circumstantial case involving vehicle data, alleged blood traces, phone activity, unusual internet searches and three witnesses who say Gina knew where Fabian's body was before its official discovery. Gina denies the murder but has admitted lying about parts of the body's discovery.
