Former American Idol contestant and Ohio worship pastor Caleb Flynn has been found guilty of murdering his wife, Ashley Flynn, a 37-year-old teacher and volleyball coach, inside their Tipp City home on February 16, 2026.
Flynn initially claimed an intruder had broken into the house and shot Ashley while she slept. But investigators questioned the alleged burglary, and prosecutors uncovered more than 100,000 messages exchanged between Flynn and his mistress, Alleigha Botner. Some described his hatred toward Ashley and thoughts about killing her.
During the September 2026 trial, jurors heard testimony about the affair, digital activity inside the house, surveillance footage and the missing firearm. Despite the defence's argument that investigators lacked direct proof, Flynn was convicted on September 29. Now he awaits sentencing, with the possibility of life imprisonment without parole.
