A former Cornell University student identified as Jane Doe has filed a civil lawsuit accusing seven members of the Chi Phi fraternity of drugging and sexually assaulting her in October 2024. The woman, then 20, alleges she arrived intoxicated at the fraternity house to meet a friend before being pressured to consume a substance described as ketamine.

The lawsuit includes an alleged Snapchat group conversation that Jane Doe's attorneys say was used to alert other fraternity members while she was incapacitated. She reported the incident weeks later, triggering university disciplinary action and a Title IX investigation. Cornell says its investigation has concluded and Chi Phi's Xi chapter remains barred from campus. No criminal charges resulted from the criminal investigation, and an attorney representing one of the men has denied the allegations.
