Students K*lled an Entire Family for Just ¥40,000.. THE FUKUOKA FAMILY MURDERS

On June 20, 2003, the bodies of Shinjiro Matsumoto, his wife Chika, and their two young children were recovered from Hakata Bay in Fukuoka, Japan. Investigators soon uncovered a carefully planned robbery involving three Chinese students: Yang Ning, Wang Liang and Wei Wei.

The men reportedly targeted the Matsumoto family after seeing their Mercedes and assuming they were wealthy. Prosecutors later said they planned from the beginning to eliminate every witness. Yet after destroying an entire family, they reportedly escaped with only around ¥40,000 in cash and bank cards. Two suspects fled to China while Wei remained in Japan, creating an unusual investigation spanning two countries and two legal systems.
