Reflecting with Tony Nassrallah on Jesus’ words: “You are the salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13).
Tony Nassrallah is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Lebanese American University. He served for ten years as curator and archivist of the Charles Malik Collection at Notre Dame University in Lebanon. He is also a subdeacon in the Orthodox Church.

In Scripture, salt also symbolized covenant, faithfulness, and permanence. In this episode, we explore more deeply what it means to be “salt of the earth,” why Jesus uses this image for His disciples, and how this calling remains alive and relevant in our daily lives today.
