Caleb Flynn and Alleigha Botner Built WHAT in Secret?!

The Caleb Flynn case produced a mountain of digital evidence, but this combined episode focuses on the relationship underneath it. Alleigha Botner testified that she met Flynn through church when she was a young intern and he was an older married worship-team volunteer. By 2025, the two were exchanging messages about Ashley Flynn that would later be read to a murder jury.

Jennifer Coffindaffer and Robin Dreeke examine those messages as behavioral evidence. Botner acknowledged writing that she wanted Ashley dead in July 2025. Flynn answered, “that makes two of us.” She testified she did not mean it. Weeks later, after Ashley discovered messages from the affair, Flynn and Botner discussed whether Ashley still had photos of them. Flynn proposed getting Ashley’s phone while she slept. Botner told him to be careful, asked what excuse he would give, and eventually replied, “Perfect.”

Shavaun Scott focuses on how a relationship like this can become insulated from normal outside checks. She discusses the age gap, the church setting, Flynn’s reported description of Ashley as a roommate, the secrecy required to continue the affair, matching Harry Potter tattoos, and AI-generated love songs. Scott’s analysis is not evidence of the crime; it is an attempt to explain the relational mechanics surrounding evidence the jury actually heard.

Flynn was convicted September 29 of aggravated murder and eight other charges in Ashley’s death. The defense argued throughout trial that no direct evidence proved Flynn fired the gun, that an intruder was responsible, and that prosecutors were using infidelity to supply motive where physical proof was missing. He is due to be sentenced October 5. Coffindaffer and Scott approach the case from opposite directions and meet in the same place: the private relationship prosecutors said helped explain what happened next.
