We often attempt to solve challenges by pulling things apart and studying the components in a lab or a garage. This traditional method of modern reasoning assumes we can understand a complete system simply by looking at its individual elements. However, when a system is defined by high interconnectivity, analyzing its pieces in isolation creates a fundamental limitation.

This conversation explores systems thinking, a paradigm characterized by the holistic belief that parts are intimately connected and can only be explained by referencing the whole. Instead of treating a system as nothing more than the sum of its parts, we examine how elements are put together to form a functioning entirety.

In systems thinking, the surrounding context serves as our primary frame of reference for describing and understanding any object.

How would your approach to problem-solving change if you began treating context as your primary frame of reference?
