Hacker Newsroom for 18 September recaps major Hacker News stories, moving through hister private search, xiaomi training dashboard, astra for law.
1. Hister Private Search
Hister turns the web pages you visit and the files you keep into a personal search engine. The project indexes their full contents, with browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox and search available through a web interface, a terminal, or an AI assistant connection.
2. Xiaomi Training Dashboard
Xiaomi’s MiMo two point six dashboard lets you watch the company’s reinforcement learning runs as they progress. The project covers both the Pro and Flash models, with training metrics that Xiaomi describes as coming live from its trainer logs.
3. Astra for Law
Astra for Law brings OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra into legal research and drafting, with a dedicated search index and instructions for professional legal work. The announcement says that index covers more than two hundred thirty million web addresses, including CourtListener’s collection of published American precedential case law.
