Mindfulness for Overthinking — Day 1 of 7: Quiet the Mind (250 Mornings Insight, 1‑Minute Practice)

Mindfulness was never about stopping your thoughts. It's about coming back.

Two hundred and fifty mornings. And here's what every single one of them taught me: nobody has a permanently quiet mind. Not you. Definitely not me.

This is Day 1 of our 7-day Quiet the Overthinking series, and we're starting by clearing up the biggest myth in mindfulness. The goal was never to stop your thoughts; your brain has been thinking since before you could spell "brain." The practice is noticing you've wandered off to the grocery list, the email, or the thing you said in 2009, and coming back. That noticing is the rep.

Why wandering off isn't failing; it's the workout
