Fort Laramie presents “Goodbye Willa,” episode 30 of the CBS Radio frontier drama, originally broadcast August 19, 1956. Raymond Burr stars as Captain Lee Quince, with Virginia Gregg as Miss Willa, in a script by Kathleen Hite.
As talk at the fort turns to marriage, independence, and the comforts of companionship, Quince finds himself reconsidering his own feelings while Miss Willa prepares to leave for San Francisco. This unusually personal story shifts the focus from military action to life and relationships at the isolated cavalry post.
Fort Laramie presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
