Box 13 presents “The Biter Bitten,” episode 48 of the classic mystery-adventure series, originally broadcast on July 17, 1949. Alan Ladd stars as writer-adventurer Dan Holiday.
An urgent letter summons Holiday to Room 507 at the Hotel Belvedere, where Dr. Theodore Miller warns that a deadly king cobra is loose in the building. As the danger closes in, Holiday finds that tracking down the snake is only the beginning. Written by Robert Light, this late-series installment takes place almost entirely within the tense confines of the hotel.
Box 13 presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned and mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
