Box 13 presents “Shanghaied,” originally broadcast September 26, 1948. In this sixth episode of the mystery-adventure series, Alan Ladd stars as adventurer Dan Holiday.
Responding to an anonymous challenge placed through his “Adventure wanted” advertisement, Dan heads to Bay City Pier and the boat Ruthie J—only to find himself drawn into an unwelcome voyage far from shore. Written by Frank Hertosig and directed by Ted Hediger, the episode launches a tense waterfront mystery under cover of night.
Box 13 presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
