Box 13 presents “Hare and Hounds,” episode 28 of the mystery-adventure series, originally broadcast February 27, 1949. Alan Ladd stars as writer-adventurer Dan Holiday, with Sylvia Picker as Suzy.
After an older visitor takes an out-of-town letter from Dan’s Box 13 mail, Dan follows a second appeal from its sender to another city. His search draws him into a dangerous murder case and a race to understand why the letter mattered before the police—and the real threat—close in. Written by Russell Hughes, this episode is part of the 52-program series originally heard through the Mutual Broadcasting System.
Box 13 presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
