Escape’s “The Derelict,” episode 180, originally aired on CBS on April 26, 1953. This sustaining broadcast stars Charlotte Lawrence, Ben Wright, and Charlie Lung, from a script by Larry Roman based on a story by Victor Schwartz.
A ship drifts in the Indian Ocean with four uneasy survivors—one woman, three men, and a cargo of gold. As isolation and uncertainty close in, the question of how to divide the treasure tests the fragile trust holding them together. Antony Ellis directed this compact high-seas drama.
The 50 Greatest Old Time Radio Shows presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
