Fibber McGee and Molly presents “Telegram from George Marshall,” originally broadcast on March 16, 1948. This local archival recording is identified as episode 545 of the classic NBC comedy, starring Jim Jordan as Fibber and Marian Jordan as Molly, with announcer Harlow Wilcox.
A telegram bearing the name of Secretary of State George C. Marshall sends Fibber’s imagination racing toward important government business. As Molly tries to sort out the situation, Fibber makes plans and calls before an Elks Club committee matter adds to the confusion. The program was sponsored by Johnson’s Wax.
Fibber McGee and Molly presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
