Yours Truly Johnny Dollar presents “The Star of Capetown Matter, Part 5,” originally broadcast on CBS on July 20, 1956. This final installment is episode 442, written by Robert Ryf and starring Bob Bailey as freelance insurance investigator Johnny Dollar.
In Cape Town, Johnny is assigned to safeguard the Star of Capetown, a diamond insured for $150,000 and inherited by the carefree Andrew Forbes. When the jewel vanishes, Dollar’s investigation follows a trail from a crowded party to the passenger liner Southern Empress as the next port draws near.
Yours Truly Johnny Dollar presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
