Yours Truly Johnny Dollar presents “The Fathom-Five Matter, Part 1,” originally broadcast on CBS on February 27, 1956. Commonly catalogued as episode 336, this opening chapter of a five-part serial stars Bob Bailey as independent insurance investigator Johnny Dollar and was written by Les Crutchfield.
Dollar heads to Miami Beach to investigate a $75,000 life-insurance claim after consulting engineer William Markey is presumed drowned when the chartered cabin cruiser Fathom Five burns and sinks offshore. With no body recovered, Johnny begins sorting through the circumstances and the people closest to the missing man.
Yours Truly Johnny Dollar presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
