CBS Radio Mystery Theater presents “The Benjamin Franklin Murder Case,” originally broadcast April 7, 1975, as episode 252. Written by Sam Dann and produced and directed by Himan Brown, this historical mystery features Paul Hecht, Marian Seldes, and Staats Cotsworth.
Philadelphia, 1750: Benjamin Franklin is asked to look into a troubling death connected with the old Clements mansion, where reports of Captain William Clements’s apparition have stirred fear. Applying observation and reason to a case shadowed by colonial superstition, Franklin investigates whether the victim died of fright—or something more sinister.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
