Ariana Is the Most Powerful One in the Room | Next Gen NYC S2 E10 Recap

A Next Gen NYC Season 2 Episode 10 recap on why Ariana holds the room without raising her voice, and the power dynamics the edit points at without ever naming them |Elle from The Good Edit Unfiltered breaks down the latest Next Gen episode as a high-stakes, immersive drama centered on Liam, Ariana, and Charlie. The episode is less about skiing and more about power, relationship status, and who is actually in control. Elle also digs into how the cast trip, room assignments, and offhand comments expose the real dynamics at play.

Key topics

• In this episode, Elle frames Next Gen as an “immersive drama” where viewers feel embedded in every scene, from New York City to the mountain house.
• She argues that the core conflict is not really a love triangle, but a power struggle between Liam and Charlie, with Ariana holding the most leverage.
• Liam’s mountain house and the cast trip itself are read as a flex, signaling that he and Ariana are a unit and that the relationship is serious.
• The room assignment drama becomes its own status battle, with Liam acting like the trip’s unofficial concierge while Charlie pushes back on sharing.
• Charlie’s comments about Ariana coming over for a “sesh,” leaving her charger, and calling it a late-night drunken booty call are treated as deliberate grenades meant to shake confidence in Liam and Ariana.
• Elle says Charlie’s behavior is disrespectful to Ariana and clearly aimed at Liam, especially when he implies no one can stop him from sleeping with her.
• Liam’s response is praised as calm, composed, and quietly powerful, with Elle contrasting his understated wealth and confidence against Charlie’s louder energy.
• Elle highlights Liam’s respect for women, pointing to a small earlier scene where he insisted on helping Gia clean up after food.
• Ariana is described as emotionally pulled in two directions, liking Liam’s stability while also being drawn to Charlie’s bad-boy attention.
• Elle reads Ariana as not fully ready for a committed relationship after a toxic prior relationship, even if Liam is treating her well and investing seriously in her.
