Escape presents “28 Poison,” originally broadcast July 28, 1950. This archival recording is identified as episode 5007.
Adapted by James Poe from Roald Dahl’s short story “Poison,” this CBS suspense drama finds American contractor Harry Pope frozen with fear in his bedroom in India, convinced a deadly krait is hidden beneath his bedclothes. William Conrad, Jack Webb, and Jay Novello star in this tightly wound drama directed and produced by William N. Robson; it includes period racial slurs.
Escape presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
