Gunsmoke presents “Old Friend,” episode 100 of the classic CBS radio series, originally broadcast March 20, 1954. Written by John Meston and produced and directed by Norman Macdonnell, it stars William Conrad as Marshal Matt Dillon.
In Dodge City, professional gambler Ben Corder attempts to bribe Dillon, then seeks help from gunman Toque Morlan—an old companion of the marshal’s. As pressure mounts, Dillon must balance his duty with a difficult personal connection from his past. Parley Baer, Georgia Ellis, and Howard McNear co-star.
Gunsmoke presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned and mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
