Suspense presents “Marry for Murder,” originally broadcast on September 9, 1943. Commonly cataloged as episode 57, this archival recording is listed as episode 9 in the supplied source metadata. Lillian Gish stars in one of her rare radio appearances, alongside Ray Collins and Bramwell Fletcher.
On a fogbound Cape, attorney Philip Alden grows increasingly concerned for newly widowed Letty Hawthorne after her marriage to the younger Mark Taylor. Reciprocal wills, an isolated waterfront cottage, and unsettling domestic tensions give this compact three-character thriller its ominous atmosphere. Written by Walker T. Field and produced by William Spier for CBS.
Suspense presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
