The Shadow presents “Murder by Rescue,” originally broadcast on December 11, 1938. Common broadcast listings identify it as episode 64, or Season 2, episode 12, of the Mutual Broadcasting System’s Blue Coal-sponsored run.
When wealthy heir Warren Mitchell becomes entangled in a strange scheme involving a phonograph record, hypnosis, and an apparent roadside rescue, Lamont Cranston and Margot Lane are drawn into the danger. This early installment stars Bill Johnstone as The Shadow and Agnes Moorehead as Margot Lane.
The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned and mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
