This episode details the disappearance of Missy Munday, a high-achieving student who abandoned her life in 1986 after being manipulated by Jerry Strickland. The pair fled their Maryland hometown and eventually became central figures in the robbery and murder of a courier named Elmer DeBoer. After nearly two years on the run, their location in Washington state was revealed when a broadcast of the television program Unsolved Mysteries prompted viewers to alert authorities. Following their arrest, Munday provided crucial testimony against Strickland, resulting in his conviction and life sentence. The episode concludes by examining Munday’s legal consequences and her eventual return to a private life after serving time in a juvenile facility.
