The Six Shooter, “Gabriel Starbuck” (episode 10), originally broadcast November 22, 1953. James Stewart stars as wandering gunman Britt Ponset in this NBC frontier drama, written by Frank Burt and directed by Jack Johnstone.
Arriving in Yellow Crest, Britt finds residents concerned that their longtime sheriff, Gabriel “Gabe” Starbuck, may be too old to continue wearing the badge. As the proud lawman tries to prove he can still protect his town, Britt is drawn into a delicate question of age, reputation, and public confidence. Bill Johnstone co-stars as Sheriff Starbuck.
