Following the guidance of Sage Narada, King Svayambhuva Manu brings his daughter Devahuti to Kardama Muni's hermitage. Devahuti had already developed deep respect and admiration for Kardama after hearing about his extraordinary character, spiritual discipline, and devotion.

Kardama Muni recognizes Devahuti's noble qualities, beauty, character, and royal lineage. However, before accepting the marriage, he makes his intention clear: he will enter household life and fulfill his responsibilities, but after Devahuti bears their children, he will renounce worldly life and return completely to his spiritual practices and devotion to Bhagwan Vishnu.

Devahuti accepts these conditions with humility and faith, choosing a life of dharma and devotion rather than worldly comfort and royal luxury. Their marriage therefore becomes more than a union between a king's daughter and a great sage—it becomes an important part of a larger divine plan that will eventually lead to the appearance of Kapila Muni, who will impart profound spiritual knowledge to Devahuti.

This episode reminds us that grihastha dharma and spiritual life need not be opposing paths. When family responsibilities are performed with righteousness, sacrifice, and devotion, they can themselves become part of one's spiritual journey.
