His son, Shukadev Ji, was already a fully realized sage, completely detached from the material world and absorbed in the bliss of the formless Absolute (Brahman). Having transcended worldly attractions, he wandered freely through forests, immersed in spiritual realization.

Understanding the unique nature of his son, Ved Vyas devised a remarkable plan. He selected a few especially enchanting verses from the Srimad Bhaagwat, verses that beautifully described the compassion, sweetness, beauty, and divine love of Bhagwan Shri Krishna. He then instructed his disciples to wander through the forests reciting these verses aloud.

As the sacred sound vibrations echoed through the woods, they eventually reached the ears of Shukadev Ji. Though fully established in Brahman realization, he was deeply moved by the descriptions of Krishna's divine qualities. The sweetness of Krishna's pastimes touched a dimension of spiritual experience even beyond impersonal realization. Captivated by this transcendental nectar, Shukadev's heart became eager to learn more.

Drawn by the irresistible attraction of Bhagwan's divine glories, Shukadev returned to his father and requested to hear the complete Srimad Bhaagwat Mahapuran. This pivotal moment illustrates one of the central teachings of the Bhaagwat: even those who have attained the highest realization of the impersonal Absolute become attracted to the loving and personal aspect of Bhagwan.
