Ambition, oil rigs and the story only Yassmin Abdel-Magied could write

What's it really like to be the only woman on an oil rig? Yassmin Abdel-Magied knows... before she was a broadcaster and novelist she worked as a drilling engineer. We <3 women in STEM.

Yassmin's debut adult novel At Sea is a literary thriller set on a rig on the brink of catastrophe, with one woman holding her nerve and standing her ground in a hyper masculine world. Myf talks to her about surviving male dominated workplaces, the price of ambition, and why fiction let her say things no memoir ever could.
