What would you ask for if God told you, “Ask, what shall I give you?”
King Solomon was given that extraordinary opportunity and his answer reveals something profound about wisdom, leadership, and what it truly means to live a guided life.
In 1 Kings Chapter 3, Ari Abramowitz and Jeremy Gimpel discover why Solomon didn't ask for wealth, power, or long life, but for a “listening heart” (לֵב שֹׁמֵעַ) and why that request pleased Hashem.
In 1 Kings Chapter 3 learn: -Solomon's remarkable request: Why did the young king ask Hashem for a “listening heart” rather than riches or power? -The meaning of Shema: What does Solomon's request for a heart that can hear teach us about שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל — “Hear, O Israel”? -Wisdom and leadership: Why true wisdom isn't simply knowledge, but the ability to listen, discern, and make decisions with an open heart. -The famous judgment of Solomon: How did Solomon uncover the truth when two mothers both claimed the same living child? -The Solomon principle: Why pursuing what is truly essential can bring blessings we never even asked for.
