Russia Targets Kyiv’s Bridges—Ukraine Prepares Plan B

I examine the reported fourth day of Russian drone attacks on Kyiv’s Dnipro crossings, including damage reported on the Pivnichnyi/Northern Bridge roadway and a heating main that disrupted transit and hot water. The naming and location of some bridge reports remain unclear, but the strategic pattern matters: Ukraine is already preparing earthworks and pontoon crossings in case additional bridges are disabled. Russia’s growing use of jet-powered attack drones also threatens to erase the distinction between relatively normal workdays and wartime nights in the capital.

I also track Ukraine’s reported overnight launch of roughly 400 drones toward Russia, including a fire near the Khanskaya military airfield outside Maykop, strikes claimed against a Buk-3 air-defense system, UAV infrastructure, electronic warfare, and telecommunications targets. The central question is whether Moscow is trying to make Kyiv function like a frontline city—and whether Ukraine can preserve civilian mobility, services, and military resilience under sustained drone pressure.
