Refused frontman Dennis Lyxzén gets elbows deep into the story of their classic 1998 album The Shape of Punk to Come, from their hardcore roots in Sweden's Umeå to the experimental chaos that fused hardcore, jazz, rock, experimental music and drum & bass into a revolutionary sound. He opens up about the political fire that drove the record, the inner tensions of making it, and why the album's freedom-loving, anti-capitalist spirit still matters today.
