Melvins' Stoner Witch: Buzz on Chaos, Control & Creating a Savage Masterpiece

This week on We Wreck Records, Buzz Osborne of Melvins dives deep into Stoner Witch — the band's 1994 sludge masterpiece and follow-up to their major label debut Houdini (where Buzz famously fired Kurt Cobain as producer). Buzz pulls back the curtain on Melvins' songwriting process, the power of album artwork, and how movies, books, and bad vibes shape their sound. From Judas Priest's Unleash the Beast to Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian, this conversation is a wild ride through identity, creativity, and chaos — with detours into brain science, resurrection, and the strange place where science and religion blur.
