Ancient records from Egypt, Mesopotamia, Guatemala, and South Asia repeatedly connect divine beings with the heavens. For ancient-astronaut theorists, that recurrence may preserve fractured memories of contact with advanced visitors who arrived from the sky, shaped humanity, and were later remembered as gods.

Yet neither explanation fully removes the central question: why did so many human communities place powerful creators, judges, teachers, and ancestors in the sky?
