The Extra Legendary Bit: Mafia Punishments, Wrestling Moves & a Chindit in Burma

The mafia didn't just kill people. They made the punishment fit the crime, and Johnny and Gav have worked out exactly how the poetic justice system operated. Say the boss has his head up his own arse and you'll be found in a very literal state.

The Extra Legendary Bit is where Johnny Vaughan and Gavin "The Woodman" Woods dive into your messages and uncover the gloriously unhinged tales sent in by the Bloomin' Legends nation.

What You'll Hear in This Episode:

🔪 Mafia punishments that fit the crime – Johnny and Gav on the grimly poetic logic of mob justice, and the absurdity of the police having a boss on CCTV with a chainsaw, boasting about it in a deli, and still only being able to get him on tax

🤼 The greatest signature move in wrestling – Johnny makes the case for Jeff Hardy's Swanton Bomb, the only combat move in history built around using your own back as a weapon, and wonders what would happen if you tried it in a pub

🚚 A trucker's friend – Mark from Nottingham is working through the whole back catalogue on the Nottingham to Ipswich run, and is off to Angola to report back from the field

🌏 Great Uncle Albert, an original Chindit – James nominates his great-uncle, who slipped behind enemy lines into the green hell of wartime Burma, endured monsoons, malaria and the many-banded krait, then came home and never once mentioned it

🩲 The naked Brigadier – The officer whose obituary noted he might have achieved greater heights in the British Army were it not for his propensity to brief the men with no clothes on.

If you love funny true stories, listener tales, mafia history, wartime legends and comedy podcasts, this bonus episode of Bloomin' Legends is for you.
