Ed Parcaut and Mike Kelly cover Stanislaus County closings, mortgage applications, ADP jobs, GDP, PCE inflation, oil, Fed hike odds, California homeownership assistance ideas, SB 24 builder-cost transparency, and a home contractor warning. Stanislaus County reached 250 closings, with 367 pending sales and 833 active listings as September wraps up. Mortgage applications fell as rates rose to 7.30%. Purchase volume dropped 4% for the week and 14% year over year, while refinances fell 9% and remained down 56% from last year. Ed also explains why stronger jobs, better GDP, lighter PCE inflation, oil routes, and Fed expectations all matter for mortgage rates. A fast Real Estate Jerky Daily update with the usual bite.
