On this episode of Along the Rock, host Kierstyn Long is joined by Dale Hayen and Anna Garcia from Sauk Valley Friends of NRA to talk about the organization’s 32nd annual banquet and how the event supports youth shooting sports and local organizations.
The annual banquet is set for October 10 at the Dixon Elks Club. Doors open at 4 p.m., with dinner beginning around 5 to 5:30 p.m. The evening will include dinner, raffles, games, a 50/50 drawing, silent auctions, and other opportunities to win prizes.
Dinner will include a salad bar, roast beef, roast turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, and rolls.
Tickets and packages are available online by searching for Sauk Valley Friends of NRA events. Attendees must be 18 or older. Dinner-only tickets are available, as well as packages that include additional raffle tickets. Table packages are also available for groups.
Proceeds from Friends of NRA events help fund grants for youth shooting sports and other eligible organizations. Local beneficiaries can include high school trap teams, homeschool programs, FFA groups, Boy Scout organizations, religious schools, and other community programs. Grant funding can help provide equipment, ammunition, clay targets, and other resources.
