The episode details the tragic murder of Lisa Thompson, a beloved mother and former youth worker who was brutally killed in her Dublin home in May 2022. Investigators quickly focused on her former acquaintance, Brian McHugh, whose DNA and suspicious movements captured on CCTV linked him directly to the crime scene and the subsequent robbery. McHugh was ultimately convicted by a jury and sentenced to mandatory life imprisonment for the vicious attack. Additionally, his former partner, Deirdre Arnold, served as his getaway driver and was later sentenced to three years in prison with a portion suspended for impeding justice. Through emotional victim impact statements, Thompson's grieving family ensured that her memory and voice remained central to the pursuit of justice.
