Darren Burn, a stockbroker living a lavish lifestyle beyond his means, faced mounting financial ruin and the collapse of his marriage after his wife, Maria, discovered his ongoing affair. Following his redundancy and a confrontation over a second secret phone, Darren brutally assaulted Maria, knocking her unconscious, and then doused her in white spirit to set her on fire. Ultimately, a court found him guilty of murder, bringing a tragic end to the deception.
