After a long-standing mystery that began when an Oregon family mysteriously vanished during a 1958 holiday trip, authorities finally solved the case. A diver named Archer Mayo located the family's submerged Ford station wagon in the Columbia River decades later. Investigators recovered vehicle fragments and human remains from the wreckage, which underwent advanced laboratory testing. Utilizing DNA profiling matched with living relatives, scientists positively identified the remains as Kenneth Martin. Although the remains of the other family members were too degraded for full genetic confirmation, law enforcement has officially concluded the investigation without finding any evidence of a crime.
