In February 1990, a runaway teenager named Regina Kay Walters and her boyfriend hitchhiked out of Texas toward Mexico and accepted a ride from a serial killer known as the Truck Stop Killer. The driver, Robert Ben Rhoades, brutally murdered the boyfriend so he could abduct Walters and subject her to weeks of torture inside a custom-built mobile dungeon compartment in his semi-truck. Before ultimately strangling the young victim to death in an abandoned barn, Rhoades snapped a disturbing photograph of her cowering in absolute terror. Authorities eventually discovered photographic evidence of Walters' captivity and linked the trucker to numerous unsolved murders across the nation. Rhoades was finally apprehended when a trooper found another captive woman in his rig, leading to a life prison sentence for his heinous crimes.
